This was my 1st stop after I checked into my timeshare in Welches. I relished the ambience and cozy atmosphere. I loved the... coffee mug so much I bought one to take home. I had the lumberjack breakfast which I ate for a couple more days afterwards (andstill never managed to finish!). My only complaint was there seemed to be a lot of flies inside the restaurant. They serve breakfast til 2pm (when they close) and have a huge selection. My scramble came with FOUR eggs! Potatoes were... fantastic- mixed with peppers. I would stop here even if it was just for coffee and wish I could have bought some to take backhome. Something I was not expecting was the amazing biscuit which had a light crisp on the outside and was just as good if notbetter than any biscuit I've had in the south. Delicious place; cozy atmosphere; and very prompt, friendly and competent service. Impressive, cozy log building with gorgeous... live-edge wooden tables at the base of Mt. Hood. Our food and coffee was perfect: home-cooked and came to our table right away.We got there at 8am on a Saturday and this definitely seemed like a good way to beat the crowds and enjoy the calm atmosphere.100% recommend! Really good food and variety. Had eggs Benedict. Also, the Zig Zag scramble which had eggs, smoked salmon, capers, peppers and a... nice white sauce. Drinks were a bit on the spendy side. Read more

Unfortunately this was a less than pleasant experience and it seems that it is quite common for ZigZag customers to be left... waiting for over an hour without acknowledgment and apologies. We should have known that this was par for the course. Initiallywe were very excited to stop by the Cafe after a long hike in the Mt. Hood area. We went inside and asked if we could sitoutside on the patio. After 15 minutes had gone by, I went in and had to ask if a server would come by with waters and take ourorder... it took probably another 10 minutes to get 3 waters and a Bloody Mary. We sat waiting and waiting for our food. An hourand 15 mins went by... we contemplated getting up and leaving as that type of service is inexcusable. Reluctantly we waited andfinally the food came. The only reason I've given them two stars is because the food was pretty good. I hate to write a reviewlike this but the lack of customer service or acknowledgment is disappointing. They could have preemptively shared that there isa longer wait time or apologized but there was none of that. Very very disappointing experience. They need to get their servicesorted out in a major way!! Read more
