More varieties of asian food in Richmond! Huge menu selections ???? but the two dishes we ordered were a bit too salty to our... liking. Overall still good and would try other dishes next time. Read more

We had lunch with Por Por (Grandma) and a family friend who used to live in the Philippines. Our friend doesn't get to go out... for Filipino food very often so we decided that we would try out Kumare restaurant in Richmond together. On the table wehad Sizzling Bangus Belly, Manila Style Pinakbet, Calamares, Kumare Rice, Chicken Adobo, Lato Salad, Ginataang Langka, and HaloHalo. Sizzling Bangus Belly: Impressive at first when it arrives sizzling hot on a plate, but when it comes to actually eatingit, there's very little fish meat to be found. Manila Style Pinakbet: Why didn't they mention on the menu that there was bittermelon in it? Bitter melon is on my list of Top 5 foods I hate! Calamares: Enjoyed it like I do in most restaurants. Hard to gowrong with deep fried squid! Kumare Rice: Shrimp paste fried rice garnished with shredded mango. I love shrimp and I lovemango. Great combination for me. Chicken Adobo: Tender, moist and flavorful. Lato Salad: Never heard of seagrape seaweedbefore. Saw this on the menu and wanted to try it. They were tiny green spheres. A bit like the fish roe that you might see ontop of Tobiko sushi in a Japanese restaurant, only these were green instead of orange. They were crunchy and neat toeat! Ginataang Langka: Jackfruit failed to impress for many years. In the last few years however...ever since I stopped eatingmeat and started to cook and eat plant based foods, I've suddenly developed an appreciation for Jackfruit. This jackfruit hadcoconut milk and shrimp paste on it. It was one of my personal favorites from this meal. Halo Halo: Why do people eat dessertafter dinner? Is it based on the idea of saving the best for last? Halo Halo was my absolute favourite out of all these dishes.Such a refreshing and tasty treat. A wonderful way to end the meal. Service: Fair (Not very attentive. We waited a super longtime to be able to flag someone down and get our bill. There were hardly any other customers besides us in the res Read more

We were denied dining in at 7 pm when their hours of operations posted on their website and signage on the door clearly stated... 7:30 pm. I highly suggest the business changes their hours of operation because it is misleading to customers. For the food, weordered about $92 worth. One out of the five dishes we ordered was hot/warm and the rest was cold. We asked for cutlery and theygave me a halo-halo spoon.. imagine trying to eat sinigang with that. Overall, I would only recommend coming here if you aredesperate for Filipino food. I prefer pin-pin in Vancouver. Read more
