Amazing little restaurant in Richmond. We came here to eat while travelling past and are very happy we chose this place. The... food was impeccable, portions generous and the atmosphere was pleasant. Every aspect of each meal was delicious, and felt likeit had all been meticulously crafted to render two unique beautiful meals. Considering all of this, the respective prices wereextremely reasonable (just under 20$ per meal.) The staff were friendly enough, and the time taken to serve the food did notleave us wanting. Very clean facilities. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to eat somewhere inRichmond at any given time, and I am very grateful we opted to stop in here too. If I am ever in the area again & in need offood, Carena's Jamaican Grille will definitely be a high contender. Read more
The food was great. Just the right flavor. The presentation was great. Nice portions. We ordered the oxtails, jerk chicken, and... curry chicken. It didn't take long to get there. WOW! I've had good Caribbean food being from NY but Carena's DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Let's start with the price!! My curry goat and... oxtail combo was a nice size for $16! The fries portion with the other meals was huge! The kids meal were only $5 and too muchfor the kiddos!! I guess I've been abused by other restaurants portion/price wise, because I was pleasantly pleased when we gotour food! In addition to that, the oxtails were meaty AND tender!!! WOW WHAT A SURPRISE! Saw this place on diners, drive in, & dives so decided to give it a try. Food was decent but they are heavy on the gravy so much... so your entire meal will be swimming in it. Which I?m not a fan of. I mean I like gravy but sheesh! Service definitely could abeen a bit better as well. Read more
