There is nothing like waiting for your undercooked and very overpriced food while being sickened by the sight of roaches walking... on the table next to ours that had not been cleared up for the next victims! We left rather quickly and went to Fridays instead!The place looks great until you meet/see the true occupants. This is my second visit to Joia. Never had any issues with the staff. I do suggest making a reservation to avoid wait time. The... food is exquisite. And the Martinis to dye for!! Give it a shot and try it for yourself. To my tastes this place is definitelyworth the 5 days and money you may for. The food tastes just like home cooked meals. They come out fresh! It was the St Stephen Catholic School party. It was nice to have Mr Louis who took care of my wife and the rest of the crew who... arrived for the party. Although I came in late for the party few mins after the kitchen had closed. I was hungry and asked MrLouis to bring some bread and a glass of wine. He did not stress a bit, and he did as told with so much smiles on his face.. Hemade sure everyone was please with his service before we all left. My bf and I were here last night and all of these previous complaints about the staff make zero sense. My bf and I come to Joia... often. The staff have always been accommodating and friendly. You can?t honestly expect people to roll out the red carpet foryou on a Saturday night when they have lots of reservations and it?s packed. And yes, the food is a tad pricey, but this placeis an upscale martini lounge...did you expect different? I love the atmosphere, the food is great, and the drink specials are ahuge plus!
