I am pleasantly surprised to find good shabu shabu near home! I hit up Chinatown once a week for Chinese hot pot, so I was... hesitant to try a shabu shabu place in the burbs. However, I have nothing really negative to say about this restaurant. Forabout $36/person after tax and tip, the all you can eat was a great value. The ambiance was perfect for a quiet Tuesday datenight. Service was above and beyond, from the host to the waitstaff to the guy slicing meat. While I still personally prefer themuch bolder flavors of Chinese hot pot, I still enjoyed this meal. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking totry hot pot for the first time, as the waitstaff will happily explain everything, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Read more
Was our first time trying this shabu shabu place. It had a cool modern feel much like Shakou if you have ever been there and was... set up in a way for people to try shabu shabu for the first time. The service was great and they add a bit of pizazz whenexplaining/setting up . It was overall a good experience but compared to other shabu shabu places the broth was lacking and itwas pricey. If you're looking for an authentic experience King Shabu Shabu is not it. This is a restaurant that performs in style while... falling far short in substance. This is highlighted by Kings choice to place its meat cutter center stage slowing service butallowing all to see instead of multiples in the back where you could serve your patrons faster. By the time we got our meat ourbroth was boiled away and our vegetables ruined. The photography of the restaurant does justice to how beautiful the interioris but behind the ascent neon and white table tops is poor slow service of mediocre food.
