Having spent over 30 years in Southern Arizona, I know a couple of things about Mexican food and "Super Amanecer II" in Roanoke,... VA is as close to authentic as you can get without needing a US passport to re-enter the country. The portions are generous andthe corn tortillas are made fresh for each individual meal. Pricing is in line with the quality and quantity of foodserved. While at "Super Amanecer II", you will want to visit the Mexican Grocery that is accessible from the dining room orstreetside. A simply incredible array of products from Mexico, Central and South America. Be sure not to miss it. When inRoanoke, I go out of my way to eat there every time and, if you have the chance, I'd encourage anyone to do likewise. Read more

Huge selection of all things Latin foods! There's even an accompanying restaurant. To begin, there's a great cheese fridge right... at the front with various styles of cheeses, from Mexican to Honduran and more. You'll find various beverages, spices, herbs,and canned foods you won't find elsewhere and they're less expensive. The only qualm I had was that the produce was notpriced. I'll definitely be back!
