I spoke to the owner prior to our visit since I'm from another state and were meeting family for dinner. They normally do not... take reservations but he assured me a table anyway and I was very grateful for that. The parking is tight but they are makingchanges to improve that issue. We didn't have any complaints about our meals and my steak was cooked perfectly. Our waitresscould have been a little friendlier but she may have been having a bad day. Most importantly, she had our orders correct and didattend to our needs. We left very satisfied. Read more

Haggerty?s is a welcome reprieve from the road and is a shining star in the midst of chain restaurants and big name fast food.... Barbra, our waitress, showed us so much warm hospitality and took the time to make sure my wife and I were completely satisfied.She was so charming and warm and made us feel at home. From a food perspective, both my wife and I had the burger (she had thesingle patty and I had the double) with sweet potato fries and I had a baked potato as my side. We split Haggerty?s loaded friesas an appetizer with a couple pepsis and a water. We were traveling through Roanoke Rapids and prefer to enjoy local businessinstead of chains and Haggerty?s is it! Looking for a decent place to eat in Roanoke Rapids while staying for the night. We had read the reviews on line and figured to... give it a try. I will say the steak I had was very good. Juicy and tasty. The shrimp skewers were OK, a bit too salty for myliking. We tried the sweet potatoe fries which were good. We had the very good onion rings. My wife tried the salmon and it wastoo dry for her liking. Stick with the steak options and you should good. My son had a burger that was OK as well. Didn't tryany of the desserts. I will say seating outside got us a table fast, but not worth dealing with the huge quantity of flies thatsettled on your food throughout the meal. I would give this place a 3.5 overall. Read more
