Had taco salad $8.99 avacado$2.99 side of beans $2.50 water. Waitress brought ticket $18.29 then lied to her boss in front of me... about what I ordered. Mgr gave me a very hard time trying to force me to overpay for my food and I stood firm refusing to herdemand. Look folks, I don't suggest going here unless you don't mind the risk of overcharge. slow service even though was empty. food was cold and hard. portions are definitely smaller and seems like prices increased.
Food was very good. Happy hour was half off margaritas or beer. I had the Compadre Special. It was very filling and tasty. My... only complaint was the salsa. It wasn't bad, but very simple and tasted like canned tomatoes. It could have used some spices andcilantro. We requested spicy salsa and it was flavor packed, but HOT. Will visit again. Update: just recently had the blackbean soup and while simple, it was tasty. Nice if you don't want a heavy meal. Also, the salsa was fantastic this time. Lesstomato flavor than last time. Read more

Went today for lunch, me and a friend ordered our food for dine in. I ordered loco rice with steak and she ordered steak and... shrimp nachos. When we got our food we both noticed a weird wang with the cheese dip. I thought maybe they used a differentseasoning on the steak but when I tasted a piece without the cheese on it, it tasted normal. It was almost like the cheese hadbeen scorched in the pot while making it. We weren?t going to say anything at first but after one or two more bites the aftertaste was absolutely awful. Even tried to put salsa on it and it was still a very gross taste. We ended up telling the waitressand she was instantly offended. My friend suggested her trying the cheese herself but ofcourse she came back saying it tastedfine and that everyone else in the place had the same cheese and no one else was complaining. We weren?t trying to be rude atall but we asked to send the food back and we would pay for the drinks and kids meal my daughter had ate. I could understandthem thinking we were lying if we had taken multiple bites out of the food but we literally took MAYBE 2-3 bites total. Weweren?t just trying to get a ?free meal? or whatever. We went to pay and every single worker we came into contact with told us?you have been the only ones to say it tastes odd? Lol even the actual manager who checked us out. I paid first and he didn?tsay a word to me then tossed my change back at me. He again told my friend ?we were the only ones who felt that way? hisattitude was completely awful. I?ve always had a great experience with them but they were down right d*ckheads about this. Takeit from me, GO TO EL ZARAPE ON BROAD STREET. You will NOT be disappointed. Their staff, manager/owner and food is 1000000xsbetter than here. And their cheese dip is always on point.
