Can't believe I'd never been! Went for a show, and followed advice I found in other reviews. Arrived about 90 minutes early. No... issues parking in the lot behind. Had a burger and beer downstairs in the Clown Lounge. Staff let those of us going to the showin first. A GREAT intimate music venue! And just a throwback to earlier days. If someone you want to hear is playing the TurfClub . . . GO! Read more
Enjoyable time at the Turf Club. Went this past Tuesday for live music. Got there at 7 for 8pm show. Got a table in middle of... the main room. Had a tasty burger and fries. 2 talented bands. Will go there again. Read more
I saw a show here for the first time yesterday evening. This is a really spacious venue with lots of high tables and seats at... the bar. I recommend getting here as early as possible - preferably as soon as the doors open - because the seats and tables canfill up quickly. It was also ventilated enough where it wasn't too cold or too warm, and the sweater I brought with me was notneeded. They have a decent food menu and lots of beers on tap with non-alcoholic options. I stayed on the main floor and didn'tgo downstairs, so I can't speak for what is down there, but the bar area had a water refill station near the front door forcustomers to use. This small venue has a great vibe. Just saw a great lineup of local musicians paying tribute to Bob Dylan on his 81st birthday.... There a bar for starters and they serve your beer in a an actual glass instead of a plastic cup. Clean bathroom. There were hightop tables one could reserve, but there was plenty of room to stand near the stage and enjoy the show. The band backing up thedifferent performers was excellent. The rotation of micro sets kept the sound guy hopping and we watched as musicians gave handsignals to Matt, or just told the guy ?I can?t hear myself out of this monitor.? I highly recommended seeing a show at the TurfClub! If you take the light rail, be sure to leave before the last LRT around midnight. MetroTransit says the final train is11:35pm, but luckily one showed at midnight. Read more
