Always a favorite in Roslyn. Valet parking makes it ever so convenient. I've been coming here for years (pre-covid) to celebrate... special occasions. Fantastic table service. Not one but three servers for my two seat party. Loved the Cherrystone clams andShrimp Cocktail. My favorite entree is the seared scallops. Simple and perfectly cooked every time. The little details like abread basket with three kinds of choices: onion rolls, dinner rolls and the family recipe raisin nut bread. Delicious. They alsogive crudites: celery sticks, carrot sticks, radishes and ranch dipping sauce. Read more

Broiled calves liver with bacon and onions are served here, which is a rarity on the Island. However, it lacked seasoning. I... had to sprinkle lots of salt on the liver and onions. Eating each piece of liver with some bacon did not improve the blandtaste. The manager came around to each table, introducing himself to the diners. He explained to me that his clientele isolder, and that is why the chefs lightly season food. The cocktail The Jolly Bramble was sweet but potent: gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and crème de Cassis. The alcohol was not watered down like in some other restaurants. I could not drink it all. It was that strong! I will be coming here again to try other menu selections. Read more

Went to this restaurant Saturday night with my husband, after not going for at least five years prior. We checked the reviews... and slightly disregarded them because we weren’t concerned about the decor, and did see there were some concerns about the newmanagement but just wanted some good seafood so figured it was worth a try (again). Upon arriving, we were seated at a lovelytable overlooking the pond. The waiter rushed over without a warm greeting, but took our drink order and said they had somespecials…and we could read them on the table card. He was very unfriendly and in a hurry during each of our encounters. Weshared a Caesar salad that they kindly split for us, but the lettuce was soggy and tasteless. The bread basket was old andstale. After trying to flag down the waiter for a second glass of wine, the manager offered to get it, but ran off withoutrecognizing my husband’s empty glass or offering him another drink. Okay, finally we would get the delicious piece of fishthat was our reason for coming. They were out of the macadamia nut-crusted salmon special, so I ordered the seafood spaghetti onthe spot. It was good, I enjoyed it, but the sea bass “special” was nothing “special”. The sides that both meals camewith were wet green beans with pieces of roasted pepper, that was tasteless. The decor hasn’t been updated in at least 20years, but worse than that is the unaccommodating service and the food that Jolly Fisherman has always been known for. Sorry tosay I will not be returning. The food is delicious and the waiting staff very attentive. Haven’t been here for over 9 years and the food tastes the same!... Love the ambiance, views of the lake and the restaurant. If I wasn’t so far I’d come here more often! Read more

Amazing experience in every regard. Impeccable service and food. Great ambiance on a cool Saturday in June. Nut bread was out of... the world. Gorgeous Mucha in the ladies' bathroom was a delightful surprise.???? According to my friend who just moved here, thefood was much better than the Michelin star dinners he had in Manhattan. ????
