Excellent food! Great view! They could use a few more vegan options.

It was our pleasure to enjoy our very first dining experience at Anchor Restaurant this summer, and it didn?t disappoint. The... atmosphere is quintessential coastal Maine all the way. May I suggest the brussel sprouts, and mussels with focaccia? A foodiedelight indeed! The Key Lime pie was also a big treat. Great service too! Loved it ! Read more

Mediocre quality food and skimpy portions. My guest ordered fried clams and got only a few clams smothered in french fries. And... this plate was $27.00. Very disappointing and embarrassing to me as someone who recommended this restaurant. The tacos tastedok but were quite small. My burger was overcooked and they forgot to bring my side salad. The hostess was gracious and workshard but this is not what I expected from this well know area restaurant, which I had visited several times in previous yearswith better impressions. A sad commentary on waterfront Maine cuisine. I will not be returning. Read more

My family and I had a very unpleasant & disappointing dining experience at The Anchor tonight. The menu itself was already... severely lacking in every way however it was without ANY hesitation significantly OVER-priced across the board which I foundshocking given the less than mediocre food and poor slow service. By the time our slow inexperienced waiter finally made hisway over to take our dinner order, we eventually learned a short time later that four of our selections were already completelysold out. This was at the very beginning of the evening and so I can't fathom how a kitchen could be so unprepared andunder-stocked at the very beginning of dinner on a busy Saturday night? The $27 Lobster Popcorn appetizer I settled for was acomplete and total JOKE as it consisted of just a VERY small amount of tiny fried lobster pieces mixed together with anabundance of actual popped popcorn...as well as a ton of unopped kernals? Altogether I found this to be rather offensive. Weall left our dining experience still feeling hungry yet also quite annoyed by the unacceptable overpriced portions and less thanadequate dining service. Just to be clear, I do sincerely wish you folks nothing but success however I surely do hope you takeimmediate necessary actions to get a firm grip on REALITY when it comes to reasonable and appropriate prices that actually matchthe quality of the foods you serve via the service you provide, all before its too late!
