I am very disappointed the way management handled our issue. Earlier this week it was my husband's birthday, we have invited... over 30 people and had a party at the restaurant. My husband and I decided to buy Kievsky cake from Teremok store. On themorning of September 7th my husband bought the cake and was assured that the cake is freshly baked and our guest would love it.Unfortunately, they lied, the cake was old!!! I was barely able to slice it, I literally needed a hammer to cut it into pieces,let alone chew it. Disappointedly and completely embarrassed I still had to serve the cake to my guests since it was the onlycake and dessert for our party. Barely anyone from over 30 people were able to eat it. We have never been so embarrassed infront of our friends!!! I had no other choice to serve it and simply blame it on Teremok's "Soviet Union like" customer service.Management probably assumes that they can treat customers like dirt especially if you share the same language with them. Theythink they can sell unacceptable product and get away with it just like did in Soviet Union. Well, that is not the case with us.We spent over $185 and expect a quality product especially when my husband repeatedly asked if the cake was fresh as we had abig company coming. Next day, I furiously called store and talked to the owner Marina who stated that the cake was just recentlydelivered and apologized for the inconvenience. She stated she would refund me for the cake and assured that good customerservice is a priority for her. I explained that she embarrassed us and it was an unacceptable to sell something that she hasn'teven tried or knows what it tastes like. I advised that they must have a quality control on their baked goods. She repeatedlyapologized and stated she would refund me for the cake. Nice food, but some staff was very rude to me even yelled at me because I asked her to give me borsch with not too much of meat.... I understand that it might be not a pleasant task for her to filter the meat, but in my opinion, it's not necessary to yield. Iasked nicely, is it too hard to be nice in return?
