Good food, ambiance and service. However, giving 4 stars because when charging a whopping 50% more for sharing a dish, the... ethically right thing to do (especially for a family owned business) would be to make that dish a little more shareable. Won?treturn. Read more
Found a great Persian food place in St. James. Basil Cafe had great tasting food that was freshly prepared in an open kitchen... setting. I watched the chef meticulously prepare the dishes, helped by the owner when he had the chance. The NE Clam Chowderwas very good as was the lamb shank. Finished the meal with an apple blossom dessert. The staff was attentive, friendly, andvery helpful. They have a nice outdoor garden seating area in the back. Food was fine but the prices were absolutely ridiculous. I?m not making this up these little burnt shriveled up pieces of... asparagus cost nine dollars! They couldn?t even halfway fill the takeout container. What a rip off! Read more
