Cute place. Can make any flavor float imaginable! The Kast Iron Rootbeer on tap was delicious.
Our son ( who lives near by)told us about this wonderful soda shop in Salem Ohio.,We were visiting and had the opportunity to go... with him.There was a very knowledgeable guy that told us all about the sodas.There?s over 500 flavors! They had some food andgames you can take to your table or play in back room. The soda baristas were nice and friendly. Definitely worth going. Wehaven?t seen anything like it in Kansas yet. Read more
One of the best places to visit in Ohio! Tucked away in the quaint town of Salem Kast Iron Soda Works delivers on being a... wonderful mix of historic soda jerk shop and modern hipster hangout. With hundreds of soda selections, floats, and ice-creams tochoose from you can mix & match to your little heart's desire. Spend your time drinking their amazing beverages at the bar, orin one of the many lounge couches/chairs scattered around the rustic parlor. Unwind playing one of the board games they offerfor their customers, or enjoy a great conversation with their easy going staff. My handmade rootbeer float was made by a veryknowledgeable young man who knew about every soda in there and exactly how they tasted. While I sat their drinking one of thebest floats I've ever had I experienced a smooth and effortless conversation with a young lady who worked there talking abouttraveling and countries we visited all over the world. I'm honestly not sure if I was there 10 minutes, or an hour, as timeseemed to be unhurried inside their soda parlor. There was no rush to pay, or get up and leave, as there are with mostbusinesses. Instead the staff and environment was well suited to make you feel like family. It was easily one of the mostrelaxing times I've had inside a business in a very long time. Everyone can find a soda they enjoy here. So much variety, family friendly atmosphere, and they encourage bringing outside food... in to sit and enjoy with your drink. The owners and staff enjoyed interacting with my wild 2 year old. Not many places welcome acrazy 2 year old with open arms, but I would feel comfortable taking her here anytime. Board games galore to play with thefamily. Love it. Read more
