This place hit the spot for me. I wanted some fish fried like we do in the south and I received that and more. First we were... greeted by the most pleasant lady at the front as soon we opened the door. You seat yourself so I sat where I could see anentire view of the restaurant and watch the service. It was an experience. The staff were punctual, friendly, and the servicewas fast. My food was so fresh and served within what seemed like minutes of me placing my order. I loved my experience atBayseas and I would definitely return on my next visit to San Antonio. Oh I forgot to mention the door never stopped turningwhile we were eating and they were getting the to go orders in and out along with servicing the dine in area with the sameefforts. So sorry to write this, but Bayseas Catfish House is insanely overrated. This may explain why they are no longer staying open... until 9pm. Since September 2022, they are closing at 4pm. The catfish and shrimp were flavorless. The tartar sauce tasted oldand possibly spoiling. But the fried oysters were bitter? I tasted three of them and all three were bitter! I am wild aboutfried oysters. We make a big pile of them every Thanksgiving, instead of a turkey dinner. These oysters scared me. Maybe theylost their seafood purveyor? Dunno. The food looked so promising. Oh, and they charge a random fee for credit card payers. Read more
