Tried take away and in-house dining. The take away was really good. Went in for the restaurant experience and was a bit... disappointed. All in all - Great broth in the Pho, best over 5 other Pho houses. They were very cheap on the veggies (basil andbean sprouts, not fresh) in-house but the service and management were very friendly. Have tried several Vietnamese restaurants in San Antonio and this place, by far, was the most expensive. $17 to $18 for simple... vermicelli bowls. And the portions were very modest. Taste of Asia on Bitters Rd (about 3 miles away) is nearly half the cost,delicious, and portions are larger. Will not be back to Pho Nguyen. Read more
Quality of the food was low-average but somehow very overpriced. I was very disappointed with my meal since I paid $18 for my... vermicelli with pork and shrimp. Especially when the char-grilled pork was very dry and the shrimps were over cooked. They alsoskimp out on the vegetables for the vermicelli bowls. The banh mi was mostly bread for $9.
