When coming up to drop off at SFO we found this little gem of a Japanese restaurant. It brought us back to our trips to Japan... and tasted as fresh as it did over there. The sushi was made masterfully and displayed elegantly. I will be going out of my wayto come here in the future but it'll be worth it! Read more

Excellent quality. We came here for lunch today on a Thursday and it was not packed; no need for a reservation. I spent a good... 10 minutes trying to find parking behind el camino real though. The lunch specials were excellent. The menu is simple andelegant. The interior decor reminds me of when I was studying abroad in Japan. And the rice and ginger are excellent quality, and of course, the sashimi. Definitely worth it for lunch! Great service too. Read more

This place is a miss all around. Rolls are super expensive for what you get. Ambiance is not great and neither is the location.... Ordered 5 rolls but when they brought our rolls out they said they were out of the ingredients for one of the rolls so they onlybrought us 4. When we asked to get another roll, they told us the kitchen was closed! Such poor service and communication. Theydid refund the miso soups and offered to give us ice cream so that was appreciated but we wanted rolls in order to fill us up,not sugar! The nail in the coffin was that when they brought the bill they had charged us for the roll the never brought and Ihad to bring it to their attention. No apology or acknowledgment. Do yourself a favor and skip this place! Read more

This sushi treasure is hidden in the rear of an average strip mall, yet the atmosphere and service are anything from ordinary.... Guests at this restaurant are in for a wonderful, friendly, and courteous experience. The interior is sophisticated andfashionable, including towering pressed-tin ceilings and a very desirable eight-seat counter. Naturally, making appointments isrequired, and this is particularly true for the omakase, which features dishes that are on par with the very finest that SanFrancisco has to offer. Fans of nigiri should make a beeline for the chef's selection, but those with a more discerning palatewill find that market specials, such as silky Hokkaido scallops, sweet and succulent live spot prawns (with the traditionaldeep-fried heads served alongside), and firm yet delectable octopus, are more to their liking. Every detail is kept to aminimum, which serves the purpose of drawing attention to the superior quality of the product. Read more

Wow! I felt like I was back in Tokyo. The fish was so fresh and sweet. It was a delight. The tempura was light and crispy. The... miso soup was flavorful. It was beautifully plated too; as is the Japanese way. It wasn't cheap but it was the best sushi I'vehad since Tokyo. It brought back lovely memories. We'll definitely be going back, even though it's an hour from home. Read more
