Staff was very friendly. They all greeted and assisted me as soon as I entered. The food was delicious and they made sure I was... well accommodated. Interior decor is fun and sophisticated, a good spot for date night but their hospitality makes it feelhomey. Spent an hour at the bar just talking to the staff and eating good food. Some of the best sushi I?ve ever had. Our waitress had just started and was phenomenal and made sure to pay extra attention to... our table. The sushi was fresh and honestly fairly cheap for 5 people that were sharing. They even gave us a free sushi rollbecause some of our items were taking longer than usual (which we honestly hadn?t even noticed because it really didn?t takelong). Ordered buy one get one free. Got charged double for all orders. Expressly said soy paper no kelp or seaweed. All wrapped in... seaweed. Now I?ve spent 90$. Still have hungry family and the restaurant won?t answer their phone. UPDATE!!!! I found out thereason they did not answer the phone! The phones could call out, but were not ringing inside the store. Three of my friends hadthe same experience with three other businesses on the same night. The owner called me after he saw my review, apologized andplaced a credit on my account. We ordered the honor roll and red ninja roll and it was the best sushi i?ve ever had! We ended up getting a third roll, the... kamikaze roll, and it was amazing as well. My boyfriend ordered the edamame spicy for an appetizer which was so good. The staffwas so friendly and nice. Friendly chef, prompt service, simple but modern decor. In addition to the standard sushi offerings, there are unique rolls on... the menu. The wildcat roll was fun with salmon, avocado, siracha and jalapenos to give it a hefty kick. The salmon had a veryslight hint of "fishiness" but it wasn't bad and the spices offset it. The veggie roll would have been better with some pickledvegetables in it, but a little soy sauce and wasabi helped add some depth and flavor to it. Menu also includes cooked dishes,including some that are different from what you typically find in San Diego sushi restaurants. A bit pricey for lunch, but yousort of have to expect that downtown. Will definitely come back and check out some of the other interesting things on the menu. Read more
