Today we ate lunch at Havana Grill for the first time and we really enjoyed it. The menu has so many great selections, but we... settled on sharing the sampler platter. It was a great variety of different items. The empanada was so flavorful and filling. The plantain chips, and everything else was just awesome. The atmosphere is also great. Havana Grill is a great spot to enjoy a great meal! My friends and I visited this Cuban restaurant for the first time and it... really impressed. I ordered the hot Cubano sandwich which was packed with flavor including; jalapenos, roasted pork,caramelized, onions, cilantro, and garlic aioli. I decided to substitute the fries with garlic mashed potatoes. I also orderedthe guava and cheese pastry (not pictured). It was warm and flaky, probably the best of its kind in San Diego. This place is sooooo AMAZING! The food is excellent, the staff are excellent, the desserts are, you guessed it, EXCELLENT! I... 100% recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful. Uplifting Cuban music playing in the background, not too loud nortoo low, just right. We ordered the Lechon plate, Ropa Vieja plate, Sampler plate, 2 empanadas with guava and cheese inside, aCuban Bread with Butter and Garlic, a flan, an arroz conLeche, a Cuban coffee, and a Koka Kola Lite. If I could give 10 stars I could! As a Puerto Rican, I miss Caribbean food so much. We stopped here to try it out and we were in... for a surprise. Every single employee was so nice and friendly, they waited and answered questions. The food didn't take longwhile we got our drinks the food was served.
