Very disappointed to see what happened to the cafe at Archimedes Banya. Lovely place for relaxing made me feel upset. After... campaign about supporting Ukraine and cheering Ukrainians they made an exclamation on "russian" decor and presentation. Notgood. At all. I?m sorry we lost it from our favorite places in SF Read more

Super overpriced compared to other spas in the city. It feels like a locker room and has zero vibes. It?s pretty clean... considering how many people there were there, but the decor is definitely dated and the lights are bright. Food and drink wasbland and mediocre. Staff were fine. I had fun with my friends but given the awkward location it?s not somewhere I would rushback to. Read more

Please, do yourself a favor and trust the terrible reviews. My friend and I (both women) decided to go here because we wanted a... relaxing experience where we could chat with each other in a hot tub without disrupting others. Archimedes Banya is one of theworst establishments I?ve ever been to. The staff was unprofessional, and the facilities were rundown and not clean. The mostconcerning issue, though, pertained to visitor safety. A visibly intoxicated man approached my friend and I near the baths andmade suggestive comments. This made us really uncomfortable and unable to use the actual pools/common area because, every timewe walked in, he was like a moth to a flame. We had to leave because we did not feel safe being around an intoxicated, large, naked man who was not respecting boundaries. To add insult to injury, on the way out, we were informed of the per-person daypass fee in addition to the amount we paid for the massage.  When I made my reservation, this additional fee was not madeclear, and the girl who checked us in at the front desk did not inform us of it either. Given we were unable to use the commonareas due to the harassment, I requested a refund for the day passes via email. I did get an kind, albeit delayed, initialresponse from someone named Jesus who offered me a refund for the two day passes. I sent him the credit card info he requestedfor the refund, but never heard from him or anyone again. I?ve emailed three times and received no response regarding why Ihaven?t received my refund. It?s so incredibly unethical and unprofessional to run a business this way - just ignoringproblems and hoping they will go away. It?s clear they don?t care about their customers, and their employees are allowed to bedishonest. They ignored an extremely concerning situation that was brought to their attention, indicating that the safety ofwomen patrons is not a priority. Read more

This is one of the few co-ed saunas in the bay area where you can spend several hours using their services. Overall I enjoyed my... visit with the steam rooms and the 4 pools with various temperatures. It just allows for a truly relaxing day. That being saidit is in the sketchy side of the city, Hunter´s Point. The receptionist was not friendly but willing to give me a basicexplanation of the layout. I found the food and wine to be okay, but not great. Clothing is optional and many people go for theclothing option and some do not. You can also go to the roof and get a very nice view of San Francisco. Overall I enjoyed myexperience and will likely be going again. Read more

I love this place! There?s nothing like a quick few hour getaway to recharge yourself after a long week! It?s perfect to... recharge, recover and unwind. There?s a 3 hour pass that gets you access to the sauna steam and pools. There is nice cafe withbeer & wine, TV Lounge and a rooftop deck. The Banya sauna is really large and and can get really hot. Highly recommend giving their signature Platza a try. You?ll feel like Jello afterwards. They also offer wonderful spa treatments and massages on theirlower floor. A couple things to keep in mind for newbies are that the banya, pools and rooftop deck are coed clothing optionalexcept on one Tuesday of the month where they have single gendered days. The spa services do not include the entry fee so justbe aware of the charges when you book. The location is in San Francisco?s Bay View area and gets great Sun if your looking toeven even out those tan lines. Keep in mind that the place can get busy on the evenings and weekends and has moresocial-community vibe but never any problem with coming as a single and keeping to yourself. The staff are always helpful andfriendly. So thankful for a place like this in San Francisco! :) Read more
