Looks very nice. Great atmosphere. Crowded bar (but there was a conference in town) so cant really comment about the... bar. Greeted right away. And seated quickly for our reservation. Very professional. Great wait staff also, brought water andtook my drink order right away. We had a big group that liked to talked but the staff was great. Most of the food came outperfect. Everyone was happy. But my steak came out way way over cooked (maybe there was a mix up?) but then when the secondsteak came out it was so fatty and grisly that it was inedible. If you are going to charge $42 for a steak it should be cookedproperly and be a decent cut, in my opinion (save the grisly steak for the people that order their steak well done you know?). Manager was very professional and brought me the short rib which was wonderful and cooked perfectly. He did a great job ofturning the experience around for me. All in all great space, great waitstaff, and management was good. Chef might need to watchthe grill guy more. But I’d give them a second chance. Read more

I heard about this place (and their hamburgers) a lot and finally had an opportunity to test and taste. The bottom line - It's... OK, but there are better burgers (and desserts). Let's start with what worked well - * Impressive location - Big place. * Thedeviled eggs are fantastic. * The hamburger. From the photos I've added, you can see that it's a popular dish in thisrestaurant. From what I saw, close to 70-80% of the plates going out were these burgers. It's almost perfect* (more below).French fries crunchy and great. * Creme brulee was delicious * Fairly priced - 5 people, 4 appetizers, 5 main courses, 3desserts, and drinks - about $200 with tip. The not so good * Maybe we got unlucky but it was really loud during our visit. Wewere five people and it was hard to communicate * Hamburgers - A bit too salty (I swear, that's the first time in my life I feltthis way about food) and the bun didn't feel fresh enough. Almost hard in some places. * One of our friends had the Salmon dish- The salmon was rare on the inside. He mentioned it was very bland and just not good. * Except for the Creme Brulee, we alsohad the ice-cream sandwich (was ok) and the birthday cake which was not good and almost tasted like it's gone bad. tl;dr - It'sa nice place, with good food and not too expensive. Is the best restaurant in the city? No. But it's a nice place if you are inthe area with a decent menu. Read more

We came in for a burger, which was good. I asked for a medium rare and got perfectly pink meat - already a win in my book!... However, other than that it was nothing special. The lettuce and fries reminded me of fast food burger - tasty, but nothing outof the ordinary. The deviled eggs were great, the big highlight of the evening for me. The creme brulee was also good. It is delicious and their "Marlowe" burger is worth the hype. If you like grapefruit, the brunch brulee is incredible. The... staff couldn't be nicer, but we had a party of 12 starting at 12:30 and didn't leave until almost 4. The food execution was abit off and 11 of us had our entrees while the host didn't. Everyone sat uncomfortably munching on fries until the final entreecame. I would give it a 5 for everything else. *Must note, it's also noisy. I'm hoping restaurants start to pay attention tothis issue and start putting padded artwork or ceiling pads for sound absorption. Read more

Park Tavern, San Francisco, CA has good traditional breakfast food, as well as rich dishes like the overly salty Shrimp and... Grits. The drinks were good, and atmosphere on a Saturday morning noisy, and packed (just my style). The service was good, notextraordinary, but good, and the price point $$$ out of $$$$$ The restaurant has a Valet, that accepts credit cards for thefee, AND the tip, which is a good thing, considering that parking at North Beach is difficult to find. Handicapped accessible, and clean bathrooms round out the pluses. I would recommend Park Tavern. Read more
