This was a last minute dinner find in on my niece's San Francisco graduation trip. They wanted comfort food and Sauce had some... great reviews. It was also nice that we were able to make reservations as it was a Friday night and we didn't know how busy itwould be. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very chill and relaxed. The menu was simple with 3 - 6 options in each section. We were definitely able to get our comfort food fix. I really enjoyed that they took the traditional foods and gave them anelevated twist. My personal favorites were the cheddar cheese & green onion tatter tots and the New England clam chowder. However I've got to say, everything we ordered was excellent. I could definitely see myself becoming a regular patron of Sauceif I lived in the area. It was great find. I will be making a return visit the next time I'm in San Francisco. Read more

Place is nice. The food is good. The menu is ok typical gastro bar type foods. Ingot the burger which came with fresh fried... potato chips. A little pricey but I would try it either way. Read more

It’s no exaggeration to say this was the worst service I’ve ever received at any restaurant in the world (for reference,... I’m 30 and quite well-travelled). I went there with two new friends and from the very beginning, our waitress was rude andcondescending. Every request or question about the menu options was met with a sarcastic response. I was the only native Englishspeaker in our group (though clearly not a local). When one of the others asked for recommendations of beers, rather thansuggesting something for him, she impatiently told him he knew nothing about beer. Throughout the whole evening, her manner wascurt and aggressive. When we were splitting up the bill amongst ourselves at the end, she came by to take payment. I said weneeded another minute. Seeing that one of our party was counting some coins she looked over and sneered at him saying “You cankeep your quarters, I don’t need those”. Perhaps the worst part, though, was at the end. She was astonished that wedidn’t tip her and demanded to know why. I explained patiently that we all felt her manner had been rude and unpleasant.Rather than apologising and trying to understand why we felt that way, she threw her hands up in disbelief, clearly implyingthat we were in the wrong. In our party of three, each from a different country and background, none could quite believe justhow mean-spirited our waitress was. The meal itself was good (though slow to arrive). But honestly, even if it had been thebest food of my life, nothing would have stopped me from leaving with a bitter taste in my mouth. Read more
