Although I don't usually find myself in Dogpatch, The Plant called me in with a wide variety of vegan menu items. I was... truthfully underwhelmed with my selections. I asked for the vegan avocado BLT, the totchos, and vegan mac n' cheese. The totchosarrived to start: home-made tater tots with dairy-free cheeze sauce, beans, pico de gallo, and fresh jalapeno. The flavor wastasty overall, but the house's rendition of tater tots was not the crispy potato puffs I had in mind. The tots were more likeherbed dumplings. Although they were flavorful, something more crispy would have complemented the other textures of the dish. Asa rule of thumb, if a place has vegan mac, I will order it. However, I will keep my opinions of the mac n' cheeze brief:absolutely the worst vegan mac I have ever had. The pasta was incredibly overcooked and mushy, and the sauce was more of abland, buttery paste than a cheesy sauce. Aside from the parsley garnish, it was as if no seasonings were used. A small childmight enjoy the blandness of this comfort dish, but I highly advise against ordering this, as a person with taste buds. Inregard to my sandwich, I never received a BLT. There was a mixup with my order and got the Deluxe burger which had a home-madeveggie patty, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheeze, and vegan bacon. Although they offered to replace it, I justdecided to stick with what they gave me. First thing's first, all of the produce was fresh and flavorful, and I really enjoyedthe cut and cook of the onions. However, a soft, dull patty and mealy bun took away from the experience. Was it terrible? No.Would I order it again? Also, no. The Plant uses Hooray vegan bacon, which I had not heard of and was excited to try, andalthough the flavor was really good, it was chewy and undercooked. I can only imagine the disappointment I would have felt if Ireceived my intended order only to get a soppy, chewy sandwich. As for the side, the soup of the day (tomato) was a tasty Read more

The GAG cafe just Panic There's an old adage about airport food, what was it? Not great. Allow me to introduce myself, I am a... veteran vegan from the bowels of discord. I've been to many awful joints in my time but this is definitely top five of the worstvegan food experiences Ive had. you know how you see a vegan food place or something that sounds vegan want to go check it outcuz it might have something promising? my lady friend and I were interested in trying this in San Francisco airport and we madeour way over to give it a shot. I was excited to try the udon noodles and she had the thai vegan tofu wrap. I will nowpainstakingly describe to you each vegetable that we attempted to consume in her pathetic it was. the carrots were old anddehydrated: they were more like a raisin because of how wrinkled and disgusting they were. a broccoli was also very flavorlessas well as the squash zucchini and the mushrooms. the noodles were not seasoned at all and on top of all that it cost it alovely 13 dollars. her thai wrap the usual vegetables carrots cilantro and a little bit of raw tofu but a little bit of apeanut sauce to try to compensate with the lack of any flavor or seasoning. we tried everything salt, pepper, soy sauce...nothing can save this flavorless pile of vile. after three bites and 30 dollars wasted they were quickly in the trash can to becomposted from the airport. the noodles tasted like mop water which I wouldn't even mop the floor with. I'm very tired ofrestaurants marketing healthy organic food to vegans. we don't want it. we want greasy fatty American goodness just plant basedand cruelty free. it's hard enough to get normal people interested in veganism... but this dump, which also serves chopped updead bodies of animals, is being misleading by marketing itself called the plant Cafe. I hereby cast a curse upon thisrestaurant I hope it sinks into the ocean like the filth that it is. may you wake up on an island with a shirtless Wi Read more

I did not enjoy their BBQ. It was a little dry and the rib didn?t have much flavor.

Lovely space and friendly staff! The back patio is super cute and cozy. A little gem with healthy food options in the Dogpatch.
