The spicy wontons are delicious! They?re coated in chili oil so they?re much spicier than ones at Din Tai Fung, which are served... in a spicy broth. But the filling is still very tasty. The three taste dumplings are a winner too! Read more
I?ve been dying to try this place (as I love to try new places that offer Taiwanese style beef noodle soup. This place was so... good. The noodles in the soup were chewy and had a nice bounce, homemade and were cooked perfectly. The house special dumplings(the rectangular ones) were amazing. The filling was seasoned and flavorful, the skin was thin but crispy and all around theperfect dumpling. The spicy dumplings were delicious as well, the skin was nice and thin and the filling was on point. The woodear mushrooms was a good palette cleanser to all the dumplings and scallion pancakes which were so crispy and flaky. Please comeby to get take out or eat by a near by table. This place is takeout only, it?s still worth it. I was hoping to dine in but they didn?t offer that. I can understand since the... pandemic things are changing. We got it all to go and bought some drinks at Paris baguette and I usually don?t do this but weate at the table there and cleaned up after ourselves when we were done. Now to the food, the hui tou dumplings are fantastic,one of the best dumplings I have ever had. Beef noodle soup is really good, texture of handmade noodle is nice and chewy.Woodear mushrooms are great and they give a big portion. Spicy wonton dumplings were solid too. My mom and I are on a quest to find the best dumplings. I'm rating Hui Tou Xiang a 4/5 my mom probably would say... 3/5. Food: XLB 4/5 I really enjoyed the XLB, although the thick dough was not my favorite iteration the filling is super tasty. This was my favorite dumpling. Pork Shumain 3/5 I think my mom's opinion is colored by the shumai because she was expectingthe shumai with pork and shrimp and yellow wrapper. This shumai was absolutely delicious to me but to my mom looked more like awonton. 3/5 I wasn't so into the pan friend pork hui tou but I think I prefer steamed or boiled dumplings. Overall though, fora good hack for speedy service, order on the phone. The dumplings were nicely packaged, made fresh and I'm really happy withthe food I received. 5/5 Their Chili Sauce is the bomb!
