The Veg Edge was exactly what we needed! A super healthy restaurant with food that is delicious and filling for a reasonable... price. We were able to meet the owner?s son and he gave us a great experience at this shop. We loved how the dishes wereauthentic West African and had vegan ingredients. We can?t wait to come back and try more of the items on the menu! Read more

I really, really want to give higher points, we need more food diversity and options in this county. I will keep holding out for... hope that things improve, unless this was just an extremely odd and rare instance. A few weeks ago I ordered the tofu blackrice bowl, first time was excellent, very filling with great taste, and the ratios and overall amount was just perfect. Secondtime I went this past Sunday, I wanted to try the shiitake súyà bowl, but was told that they ran out of shiitake. At 11:30am.Nevermind that there was a pile of chopped up shiitake on the cutting board. Oookay, guess I'll order the tofu black rice bowlagain, because practically everything else on the menu was out. At 11:30am. Good grief, the amount of rice was 2-3x as much asthe first time, and there was so. much. oil. I couldn't finish it like I could the first time around in one sitting because ofit and the disproportionately insane amount of rice. There was barely any sauce on top of the tofu. I opened it up the next dayto eat the leftovers, all of the oil had completely saturated the already sparse lettuce, same thing happened to the rice. I'mso disappointed, I don't know whether the two staff members there need better training or what. Read more

WOW; So Good!! I'm so excited for another vegan restaurant here in SLO. Thankfully, this isn't your standard vegan place. ... There are unique and balanced flavors, making everything I had so very satisfying. I tried the OBE EPA, peanut stew; and sidetofu. The thick stew is a classic West African dish that i've tried before, and was so pleased with how authentic and robustthe flavor was. Served with rice and fresh mixed greens and veggies; made for a perfect combination of textures. Also, theside tofu was very well marinated and even tangy; just delicious! So grateful for this gem, and can't wait to try everything ontheir menu! (Kind, passionate and thoughtful staff, too!!) Read more

Tried to order a veggie taco and said it would take over 30 minutes, so I decided on cassava fries and peppered plantains. They... were out of a frozen plastic bag then reheated. $5.25 for a total of 7 fries seems steep. They were sort of crunchy but someweren't done in the middle. The peppered plantains were decent.
