Honestly, try and get a chicken shawarma bowl whenever I'm in town. They're good enough that it always feels like a good detour to stop in here, even if I'm only around for a wedding. Staff are nice, building clean, but all that's secondary to the food. Order a large and you'll have enough for lunch the next day, and it's one of the few meals I've had that tastes even better straight out of the fridge a day later.
This place has seriously gone down hill. It's always been an unorganized mess, but the food was worth it before. I can't say that anymore. I hope they get their act together. My last visit was about 45 minutes to close and they were out of several items. The employee didn't know the names of the items in the serving containers so we had to point at everything. We were overcharged at the register for larger sizes than we ordered. The dining area and food prep area were absolutely filthy. All of the food containers contained pieces of other items and the employee was mixing old ingredients to combine with partially used containers. Totally gross and I think also against food safety standards. The owners need to close this place for a day and deep clean it, and take a food safety class with their employees.
This place is like a Chipotle but you can cancel out the Mexican food replace it with Greek and enjoy the flavors. They have several options to choose from including falafel so everyone can find something they will enjoy. Lunch rush was crazy busy so I recommend going at a slower time of the day. Good food, energetic staff.
Stopped in for a Mediterranean salad topped with their beef and lamb. Meat was very tender and flavorful. Overall good experience. Will be back.
I've come to this place a few times and really enjoyed the food here. One of the best Mediterranean places I've been to. The reason I'm giving them 3 stars is because they turn off their fryer at 7.30 on a Friday evening even though they're open until 9. So, if you walk in past 7.30, you can kiss your falafel goodbye. Which is a shame, because it tastes amazing.
Great place to eat at If you like eating clean ?pita guys ? is the place . Call before hand if you?re moving fast just to make things quicker . Employees are amazing every time I come in an I always leave a TIP to show My Love & Appreciation.
LOVE the Hummus. Their Chicken Shawarma is recommended. Super good. Rice with almonds is always on point (they will ask if you?d like almonds on top of it). Other side I got was Mediterranean Salad.
So worth the drive! I've loved this place since I lived 5min away and now I will drive 30min every once in a while to get it. This is a PLATE, half shawarma chicken and half beef/lamb. It comes with two sides, rice with almonds and pita or pita chips, I got two servings of Mediterranean salad. I also got a side of garlic hummus that comes with pita chips but I got extra pita too. This is definitely enough for two meals! You can share or have for lunch and dinner like me. The staff is family driven and everyone is always so kind and understanding. They go above and beyond to make your food and experience great.
Join us at The Pita Guys in downtown San Marcos for a great meal and you'll be glad you did. It will tickle your taste buds and leave you longing for more. Call us and we'll save you the best table in town.
