Menu for Firelands Winery & Restaurant in Sandusky, OH

We used to go to this winery but due to the pandemic hadn't been here for the last few years. The winery was purchased recently.... The last time we were here, we had to sit on the hot black top and were seated by the staff under umbrellas. We decided on ourway to another Winery to check it out again. As a gift we were given an "All Around Town Coupon Book" that offered a freecheese plate with purchase. We arrived and immediately the woman that greeted us, stated they didn't authorize the coupons andaren't honoring them. Okay, but perhaps we wanted to look around as we did in the past and check out the wine selection. We useto be able to go to the bar, get a sample of wine, of course paying for it and try out the variety. This is no longer anoption. They do offer an excellent wine flight that we tried and both my husband and I purchased a flight. We ordered theCharcuterie board that was also excellent. Price for the wine flight was reasonable but the initial greeting soured ourexperience. I understand the coupon was a misunderstanding between the winery and the book but they could have done the SMARTthing and offered a Half priced glass of wine or something. A sign stating they weren't honoring the coupons on the outside doorwould also have been helpful. They have positives on the wine flights and the food. We like a casual atmosphere andunfortunately you have only two options for seating either on the top deck or the small deck below. They have staff that willwait on you which we also prefer to find our own seats and if we need food, get it on our own. Hopefully they will review thecritique and make changes in the future. It was okay. We understand staffing makes it hard but we were almost done with our wine before the food showed up. We also... wanted to do other tastings but they were to busy or didn't have enough people to wait on everyone. I didn't feel like anappreciated customer at all. Read more

Strange winery?most of their wine on the shelves and on the flights are not their wine?you can?t do a tasting at the bar, you... have to decide if u want to sit out inside or inside before you?re allowed to order. And then it took forever for them to serveour flight even though they weren?t busy?.and then a server brought us menus cuz they didn?t know we had been servedalready?just a strange experience, I would not recommend it?I gave it a 2 instead of 1 because the employees were very nice. A great local winery. Great wines. Super Pinot Noir & Champains. Very good cheese plates. A large wine selection

Stopped by for lunch when we visited Sandusky. The wine and food were delicious, I recommend the bacon cheeseburger. It took... some time for our meals to be served, especially for it being slow for a weekday. Read more
