First time visitor from out of town. Highly recommended by a friend and family member. The evening was outstanding for my wife... and another couple that was dining with us. Our waiter, Jafar, was phenomenal. He made the meal fun, by providing courteousknowledgeable service about both the menu items as well as the history of the in itself - all with an enjoyable sense of humor. He made us feel appreciated as patrons of the restaurant. We shared two appetizers that were delicious: Barata cheese on atomato, and avocado stuffed with crab meat. for entrées, we enjoyed the ravioli, the salmon, and the seared Aji tuna. Eventhough we didn’t have room for dessert, we were tempted by and thoroughly enjoyed the tiramisu, the crème brûlée, and aspecial chocolate profiterole all of which were delicious. Though we dined on a Sunday night out of season, reservations arestrongly recommended. We will definitely return again and highly recommend this venue for both the quality of service andoutstanding food. Read more

We came to the Belfry for an anniversary dinner because our original first-date spot changed chefs/menus and we decided to... search for something new. Needless to say, we weren't disappointed! Our waitress was exceptionally friendly, personable andattentive. Everything we tried from the menu was delicious, including two specials (prosciutto wrapped figs, and a freshswordfish special). They cook their asparagus to perfection, by the way, haha. The caramel pineapple mango cheesecake was sodelectable, quite possibly the best cheesecake flavor I've ever had in my life! We enjoyed the atmosphere, which I think theBelfry pulls off well. It's not stuffy- as some might think of with both churches, or expensive restaurants - and it'sdefinitely not tacky either. I love it. To know a great little spot is just down the road from us is a wonderful discovery. Thanks for helping to provide a treasured anniversary memory :) Read more

I recently stayed here on a little weekend getaway from Northern New England. We stayed in the Thursday Room. We also ate at the... Belfry Bistro, and The Seal. Another restaurant next door, which is owned by the same owners. First I will review my stay inone of their rooms, and will follow by a review of my experience at their dining locations: Lodging: Pros: Beautiful room, clean, and spacious. There is a very fun, and eclectic ambiance. My daughter, whom I was traveling with, thoroughly enjoyed thejacuzzi tub in the room. I don't think she's ever taken that many baths in a two day span. The woman at the front desk is anabsolute joy. She is knowledgable about the area, the Inn, and seemed genuinely invested in ensuring our stay was wonderful. Shewas, hands down, the highlight of our stay. Cons: The walls are *PAPER* thin. I mean, unusually so. While the service staff wascleaning up in the evening after the restaurant closed (around 10PM), we could hear everything. There was nothing the servicestaff could have done to improve on this, as they had to communicate with one another to complete their work for the evening, and they had to vacuum. They were not speaking to one another any louder than normal. Just a standard conversational tone, butit was so loud in our room. It kept us up both nights. The second night we were kept up by those staying in the room next to us.All. Night. Long. and we heard EVERYTHING they were doing. I mean.. everything. I am not a prude by any means, but the lastthing I want to have to explain to my 7 year old daughter, is what our room neighbors were engaging in at 1:27AM. Food: Pros:Staff were friendly, professional, knowledgeable. Food came out quickly, and care was obviously taken to ensure the freshness ofingredients. The oysters were fresh and delicious. My daughter and I were pleased to see a Kid's Menu and she loved what sheordered. Cons: So many beautiful ingredients drowned or plated amongst so many sauces. Which m Read more

First of all, the food is superb. I had a squash soup and shrimp and crab cakes, and all were really excellent. My wife had a... pistachio salmon, and it was also excellent. The drinks are delicious too. Next, the setting is an old church. The conversionwas done respectfully, there are many, many aspects of the church that are still present, including the stained glass and thelovely interior construction. The confessional has been repurposed into a bar and wine rack which I thought was an appropriatetouch. Finally, the service is attentive without being obsequious. We were very well cared for, never really had to wait foranything, everyone is polite and efficient and friendly. Read more
