My wife and I were visiting Santa Fe and we had asked our neighbors who used to live there where we ought to eat... their first... response was Osteria D'Assisi. We started with the gnocchi appetizer and it rivaled any I have had in Italy for sure. AfterwardsI had the filet and my wife had the carbonara. My filet was rare to med rare the way I like it. It was butter.. I did not need aknife, it was that tender. The carbonara was rich and tasty, every thing a carbonara ought to be. Our waiter, Dan, was great...we had chosen to dine upstairs. He was running back and forth as he had people downstairs. Dan filled us in on the history ofthe building and the restaurant itself. Hands down if you are coming to Santa Fe by all means eat the local indigenous food itis fabulous, the chile's etc. However set aside that special night and dine at Osteria D'Assisi. We have traveled to Italy manytimes as we are both cyclists. And we will be buying a houser there soon, we know good Italian and this is certainly one of thebest. Read more

We made reservations for Thanksgiving Day. Server was really nice. Our bread was served dry and cold without butter or anything... for it. Waited far too long for cold soup and a weird salad that didn’t taste like it should, lettuce was extremely bitter. Wethen waited 30 minutes to be served our main course after the salad and soup were removed. I was not under the impression theRavioli was to be served swimming in water and olive oil, not even edible. We decided to leave and we’re charged for items wedid consume, so that was nice of the manager I guess. Read more

At these prices the food should at least be hot. I ordered lasagna and the first plate came out cold. I mean cold in the center.... Sent it back. The second serving was just warm. Since my wife and I were with friends I just ate it. Had it been hot I wouldconsider it 3 out 5 as to the taste. Luke warm = 2. There are other Italian restaurants in the area that are much better andquite a bit cheaper. Other than the atmosphere there's absolutely no reason to eat here. I will say their Ceaser salad is verygood. But that's not enough to bring either of us back. Read more

Wonderful atmosphere and delicious Italian food. They have specials every night. The capellini chicken in mushroom sauce was... delicious and my friends loved the veal ravioli in mushroom sauce. Be sure to make reservations as this restaurant was packedlast night in July. There is outside seating and inside. We sat inside because it was still HOT outside. The orange aperolspritz was delightful. The calamari was very good for our appetizer. I highly recommend you give it a try . Read more
