This restaurant has a nice enough ambience and the service was very friendly and helpful. However, the food was only just... edible. The samosas were heavy, doughy and VERY salty. Almost too salty to eat. The mango lassi had an odd effervescence thatmade me worry that maybe some of the ingredients were off? Could not figure that out - it was the first mango lassi I have notfinished in my life. Not great. The chicken tikka masala and the saag paneer were edible, but lacked flavor and complexity. Pretty bland. This would not be fixed by increasing the heat (spice) - it is only fixed by having a talented chef who knowshow to make the right blend of spices. The other thing that was bad was the toilet in the bathroom was filthy. The undersideof the toilet seat and the toilet bowl itself was the filthiest I have seen in a restaurant in a very long time. Very sparse and simple inside, friendly service but the food was disappointing. I think the best thing we ordered was the... spinach naan appetizer, and the butter chicken the kids ordered was also quite good. My boyfriend and I went to have lunch at Cumin Restaurant on Friday afternoon. What a treat that was! The food was absolutely... delicious! We ordered the vegetable pakora for an appetizer. It came with two side sauces that had great authentic flavors. Wealso ordered the chicken tika masala, garlic nan, and the eggplant dish. All of them were so delicious. Especially liked thatthey asked and prepared our meals to the spiciness we like. Which means you can go from mild to crazy hot! They are working onobtaining their liquor license, so I had to skip having a Taj beer with lunch. They are under new management so give them atry!!The service was great, and our server was very friendly. We will definitely come back here, the next time we are in SantaRosa. Read more
