Overall, our experience here was very good. We love Ayawaska, so we came into dinner with high expectations.\n\nThe decor inside... is lovely. The tile floor is exquisite, and the rest of the restaurant is very clean and modern. The long wooden bench we sat onwobbled every time anyone down the line moved at all, so that wasn?t too comfortable, though.\n\nThe service was a slow, relaxedpace, perfect for a romantic evening.\n\nThe drinks were all fantastic. Presentation was attractive and the flavors were out ofthis world - the chinchanita was our favorite!\n\nMy wife and I both absolutely loved the empanadas. She also really liked thewontons (tequeños), but I wasn?t terribly impressed. I got the Mixto and loved it. She got the aji de gallina, and it wasalmost like chicken slop on rice. It was surprisingly bland, mushy, and unappealing visually. That meal was a huge swing andmiss.\n\nThe cost of the meal was also high enough that we might not give it a second try. Four drinks, two apps, and two mealswas $160 not including the tip. It?s a value-for-the-price concern for us there. If the food blew us away, we wouldn?t care.But a couple items definitely did not, so that?s a big cost for a less than stellar total experience.\n\nUPDATED TO ADD PHOTOS Read more
