A special hidden gem that is underrated! We loved everything we ordered, it really bring us back to japan. Suzuki san?s cooking... is traditional and fully of flavors. It?s becoming one of our favorite spot in Bay Area. Highly recommend! Read more
Authentic Japanese cuisine with friendly staff. However, their choice of sushi is pretty limited (unless you be there for their... sushi nights? specials). Came here because of the good reviews but was disappointed with the quality of food. The atmosphere was not very inviting. We... ordered Set B so we can taste 9 different dishes. The food arrived fairly soon but only 2 dishes stand out and the rest was ok. We added teriyaki chicken and grilled pork belly, they were nothing special as well. I've dined at Hachi Ju Hachi numerous times, and each time the chef and hostess gave us a big welcome. The chef is incredibly... friendly, generous, and has provided us with an incredible experience. There are dishes that I've loved, and dishes I didn'treally like. But that's just because their dishes are truly traditional Japanese cuisine, and I have enjoyed each experience. Ican't praise this place more highly with their friendly, welcoming staff, and the absolutely incredible sashimi that would rivalthat which you'd order in Japan. The chef is a true artist.
