Made a reservation in advance to come here on a Sunday and so glad I was able to try this place out! We came here for an... anniversary and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. I loved all of the food that we ate, particularly the trufflefries, butter cake, and wagyu filet. I thought the food was all reasonably priced and you could tell all the ingredients werevery fresh. Will definitely be coming back to celebrate other events! Read more

Second time I’ve been here. First visit was ok; I didn’t think the food was worth the money. This time was much better;... they got their portions down better. Made reservations via Open Table and although they were full when I tried to make changes,we were able to add an extra person to our existing reservation via an email request (open table would not allow me to makechanges on their site). Our server Alexis was super friendly and very attentive to our needs. Food and cocktails both verygood. My pork chop was a little on the salty side so I think they may brine the meat a little too long. All good bc overall,it was very well cooked. Friends said their halibut and salmon were equally good. I have to say portions have gotten betterover time. I was not a fan during my first visit bc I just left feeling hungry after spending $150 for two. Not thistime. FYI – NO CORKAGE fee. You heard right. NO CORKAGE fee. We brought our own bottle of wine for dinner but had somecocktails with apps. Some notes: Parking can be hard but just drive around. We went on a Friday night so expected it to bebusy. Portions are a lot bigger than I remembered it being which is always a plus. Read more

We went after looking at the ratings. Even though Saratoga is a lovely place but I didn’t like the food at all. We ordered... lamb chops, chicken marsala and chicken sliders. I felt like the food was cooked a while back. The sliders were cold and dull. Ihave had way better food at other places like flower. So for a given amount of money I paid, I was a very bad experience.Serving cold and stale food. Read more

Exceptional California cuisine. Every dish offers interesting combinations of seafood or meat, vegetables or fungi (shrooms),... and sauces informed by careful restraint, to showcase the fresh ingredients without overwhelming. Thai tacos, mushroom stuffedwith sausages, & pear salad were standouts (alas they were long gone by the time we thought of photos). Suffice it to say thepresentation was also first rate. In addition to the starters, we also ordered scallops and seafood gnocchi for main, andchocolate bomb (which I found too sweet due to the caramel espresso sauce) & bread pudding for dessert. Each dish had an elementof intrigue or surprise, and all of them delivered. The evening was accompanied by friendly, capable & attentive staff, plusreal attention to detail like honoring our request to be seated near a heat lamp and having our small dog along. All this in arelatively casual setting, completely lacking in pretense. What an utterly pleasant experience. Read more

Add HRK to your list of fine dining establishments and you won’t be disappointed. My wife and I finally made it back after... several years, and we’re glad we did. We booked an early (5:15pm) table for a light bite. They open at 5pm, and the restaurantwas starting to get full even at that hour! I strongly suggest reserving a table well in advance regardless of the time of dayor the size of your group. We specified outdoor seating. When we were taken to a table towards the back of the patio, weprotested (gently) and were immediately redirected (graciously) to a table a bit closer to the door. It was a much betterlocation but we still felt cramped. Plexiglass dividers between tables are a good idea these days but they add to the somewhatclaustrophobic feeling. Our extremely friendly and upbeat server definitely got the owner’s message about the importance of“personal interaction”. She may have been trying a bit too hard, but we didn’t mind. Everyone on the HRK staff was equallycheerful. We wanted a light “tapas style” meal so we just ordered three starters. We started with the Ahi Tower which waswas terrific, with super-fresh sashimi grade tuna on top of creamy avocado slices and tortilla chips. Our Fried Chicken Sliderswere fried just right on the outside, nice and tender on the inside, delicious, and much more filling than we expected. The onlydisappointment was the coating on the Tempura Green Beans. We’ve had them in the past but this time they just didn’t seem asfresh and crisp. As far as we know, this is the only restaurant that offers wine by the bottle at retail prices. The $25Sauvignon Blanc that we ordered would’ve been at least $50+ elsewhere! It’s $10 per glass so it makes sense to order a fullbottle (and take the rest home) if you just plan to drink a couple of glasses. There’s no corkage fee either. In summary, youdon’t need to wait for a special occasion to enjoy this destination restaurant, with delicious farm-to-table food and impress Read more
