We picked up the Big Bang brisket meal and a pound of smoked pork ribs for dinner tonight and everything was amazing. There was... unexpected heat hiding in something (the coleslaw?) and that's fine as both of us like some spice. I mean, there are hot peppersgarnishing the meats, so maybe it's in there, but I swear it was the coleslaw. No complaints, just surprised. The brisket wastender and flavourful and the ribs had some nice chew to them, just the right amount, and the portions were really generous. Theincluded sides (rice and peas, coleslaw, mac 'n cheese) and the cornbread rounded everything out beautifully. Trevor, the owner,was extremely friendly and welcoming. Great experience. Also, the cornbread has some "fall" flavouring to it, very tasty anddifferent from the usual. Overall great dinner. You get a lot of food for a fair price and friendly service as a bonus. Thankyou! Cornbread microwaved to warm it left the bread very dry & crumbly when it cooled. Just way too much sauce on everything, can't... taste the meat at all when it's smothered like that. Jerk wings taste great but again smothered in sauce. The owner is verypersonable and seems genuinely happy. My girl and I actually went to this place a few months ago. We thought that the serving was huge so we decided to leave and ate... at an Asian restaurant instead. We always thought of coming back to see how the food actually tasted so we've saved thislocation as our next destination when we're heading to Scarborough Bluff. Fast forward to today, and I regretted not coming toeat here before. The food is amazing, and the owner is very friendly. My girl and I decided to buy two "Smoke Pork Butt Dinner"and instantly fell in love with it. The location is pretty close to the bluff and the price is fairly decent for the quantityof the serving. The owner specifically told us that he ensures great quality for the food that he produces, and I can guaranteeyou that he is not lying. I can't wait to come again and place an order for that "Armadillo Egg", he made it sound soappetizing. I wanted to write a review on this wonderful restaurant located at Kingston Road and Midland called the Art of Barbecue. For... those of you that may know Kingston Road and Midland, there are many small stores quite eclectic in nature. I almost never shopon Kingston Road but heard about this place and its food and thought, why not? First, the ambience is very nice and there are alot of paintings and photographs which makes it warm and welcoming, when you walk in. The owner is absolutely wonderful to talkto and engages you in a way that makes it comfortable, relaxed and warm. I have ordered a few dishes now mainly, the Smokedchicken 1lb, the Jerk Chicken and a beef ribs. The meat is slow cooked for days with a likeness to Southern cooking. If you'rebuying a dinner, then the meal comes with rice and Peas and soul slaw. ???? The "soul slaw" is their version of coleslaw and isso tasty. Everything I have tried is really well done, but I really love the smoked chicken. It's my favorite and now I'm soaddicted to having it frequently. I absolutely recommend this hidden gem and really hope they stay forever in theneighborhood. Oh, and this is a great option if you want to serve guests a catered meal. I did and it worked out just fine. Interms of price, a meal costs anywhere from $20- 35 depending on what you're getting. Try the Art of Barbecue! You will have noregrets! Read more
