A longtime favorite place to eat, once again...... Tonight was my father's day dinner with my family. Unfortunately I lost my... father in April this year from cancer, so it was difficult celebrating this year without him. I especially worry about my motheras this is probably the most difficult time for her too. Being a food review - the food was very good. The service was fast andthe staff were great. The prices are reasonable and the restaurant was clean. This place was packed. Pro tip: Make areservation. It's better for you and the restaurant. After paying the bill at the end of the night, my mom went to the washroomto wash up. The rest of us all moved and sat at the entrance seating area, to let the Matsuda cleaning crew at our table dotheir job. A few moments later, a young man from the Matsuda wait staff with glasses approached me and said, "You dropped thisunder the table." I looked down at his hand as he handed me a folded "$50" dollar bill. I was so surprised and yet impressedwith this young man that all I could say back was, "Thank you so much". After all we've been through this past couple yearswith Covid, I have to say that I am so touched to see that despite our issues and problems, there are still some genuine andhonest people out there in the world. Matsuda - Thanks for a great dinner and an even better experience! My good experience andyour honest staff, will keep me coming back to you forever. They have reopened their full menu now (even the desserts). Every thing we ordered is fresh and good this time except the beef... sashimi is noticeably not fresh. It's not very crowded and there should be way enough servers (I think they hired more peoplethan before) but the servers are very inexperienced and slow. They made a mistake on our reservation info as well which wouldhave been negligible if it wasn't combined with the service later. But they changed their ordering system to without needing aserver to approve on our tablet, so it is easier to order in small batches now than before. Read more

First time being here - a friend suggested and we all went as a party of 9. I was certain that they wouldn't have any tables,... since we requested to have a table at around 8pm for 8:30pm (over the phone). As soon as I called them, they were very quick tosay that they didn't have any seats. However, when they heard we had 9 people, they paused, and then said "yeah yeah yeah" andtold us a table would be ready at 8:30. Well, that was not the case. We arrived, and we waited almost 45 minutes for a tabledespite being told that the next table was ours. HOWEVER, I will give the benefit of the doubt that we barely gave advancenotice - even though they should have been honest and told me that they did not have a table. Important to note: I did make itknown to them that I was upset at how they weren't honest to us about the table being ready, so they gave us all unlimiteddrinks. We had this lychee drink, not sure what it's called, but it was blue and you had to mix it to drink. It's pretty good, Isuggest giving it a try. They also gave us 10% cash discount - not sure if this applies to everyone or if it was just because wehad a poor experience getting the table. I was quite impressed with the food. I ordered a lot of the pressed sushi and thetorched sushi - lots of flavour and was made very well. The regular sushi quality, however, was mediocre and wasn't anythingspecial. We ordered a few basic rolls (salmon avocado, spicy salmon), and the rolls were just huge - either a lot of rice or thepiece of fish was triple the size as the fish. Sashimi was ice cold, and it felt like I was biting into a cake, so I wasn't veryhappy with that. The sirloin steak was very nice though - came with roasted garlic chips and the combination of flavours wasexcellent. Dessert was okay, they have a wide array of it.
