I may not be the absolute authority on Chicago cuisine, but I can confidently proclaim that this place is one of the best... Chicago has to offer. My friend and I both got some italian beef, fries, and lemonade, which were all killer. Over five decades ago my aunt owned an Italian restaurant called "Villa Roma" in the city. I have NEVER had a beef sandwich as... good as hers and she passed away with that closely guarded recipe. My brother took me to Franny's and I have to say, thisbeef/combo took me back in time!! Absolutely delicious!! She passed at the age of 93 and I wish she was alive to take her there(although I'm sure she may have "tweaked" something in the recipe LOL).. looking forward to going back soon with my daughters,and friends who have never been there, and of course my Big Brother too ????
