Great breakfast, super friendly service, and a warm atmosphere. We came from Altamont just for blueberry pancakes and weren't... disappointed. Definitely will be a regular weekend stop. Read more
Know before you go: cash only, atm at bank next door or at the gas station up the street Price point: amazing value at a very... low cost I grew up in Schenevus so know the area since my dad lives here but have been away in Denver for a while. I came backfor a family wedding and stopped in to try this place as I was familiar with the former diner that was here. I?m going to behonest but only out of love for the town. The food is great and lives up to what you want in a diner. I got the waffle and itwas perfectly crispy, a lot of breakfast spots don?t get that crisp right so I was impressed. The thing for improvement thoughis the atmosphere. It?s half Christmas decor and half vintage signs (I visited in august). I have nothing against Christmas butthere is no cohesive theme here and I think it does make it confusing, especially if you want to attract out of towners (whichyou should because that?s business too). There is no background music, lack of color, and overall it?s just a depressing vibe.The waitress was superb, kind, and quick but looked overworked/tired. I understand the ?if it ain?t broke don?t fix it?mentality and that does apply here (this place would be fine as is) but I also value consistent improvement and growth. Isuggest picking one theme for the place, sticking with it, and adding some background music and color life to give the placesome life. It?s not costly and I think could greatly improve the energy of the space and employee morale. Just a friendlysuggestion from someone who loves the area and wants local businesses and employees to thrive. It is the only spot in town fortraditional diner vibe so why not make it outstanding?
