Dons can be excellent some days and just ok on others. Yesterday was just so-so. I had a plate lunch, bbq sausage. I thought it... a little dry and over cooked. But in all fairness I got there after 12 noon, which usually relegates one to the leftovers. Theirfresh meat is ALWAYS excellent and a really special treat for those who stop from out of town. I work in West Texas and havevendors bring me Dons fresh meat when they come West and I feed the native cowboys a taste of true Cajun. Always a big hit.Place is always clean and faces always friendly. If you?re coming for a plate lunch, get there WELL before noon. My 3 starrepresents my visit yesterday because the lunch was just about 3 star. I?ll hit the place again next week and see if we can dobetter. Great place! Read more

Don?s has been a favorite for Me when in Lafayette for years. I was going to the original in Carencro since 1993 and continue... until this day. I started going for the Saturday pork chop sandwich and Boudin and love it still today. They have a great meatmarket and delicious cracklings both pork and chicken.
