Menu for Sesame Inn in Scottsdale, AZ

Great Chinese food, service and prices.

My best friend owned a business in Cave Creek for many years, so we ate at the Sesame Inn many times. We always enjoyed the food... and the atmosphere. It had been a few years since we'd been there and decided to celebrate her 73rd birthday dinner there. Wehad been sitting at our table for awhile when I called over to our waitress for menus. She came over and wanted to take ourorder, but I informed her we were still waiting on menus. She apologized, and we ordered some appetizers, ( the Spring Rollswere good. ) She took our order, and then about 20 minutes later came over and asked us if she could take our order. We remindedher she had already taken our order and reminded her of it. Shortly after our order arrived. The deep fried tofu with vegetablesand the vegetarian chow mein were so salty we could hardly eat it. We should have sent it back but we didn't. When I told thewaitress about the salty brown sauce she said we should have requested light soy sauce which we never had done before. I am verydisappointed with our experience. The Kung Pao chicken was terrible !!! Had a spicy Chile rating, but was so mild, a little sweet, no veggies, and hardly any... flavor. Very expensive at $13.50, soup and egg rolls extra charge. I will never go back !! I wouldn't give it a star Read more

Always delicious, large portions. Here we are again, 6 months later..this place is consistently delicious. Being gluten free,... Grace always has suggestions, and Miss Joy is a fabulous chef and so accommodating. We dine as often as we can when we are backin Phoenix, we miss the experience when we are back in San Francisco. I have been here several times but tonight the food was not good. The crab puff appetizer was good. The side salad was not good.... The dressing was not the same. The entree was bland with a poor quality of meat for the beef dish. It says skirt steak but itdefinitely was not skirt steak. The lemon chicken tasted like perfume. The ice cream did not taste good either. It seemedflavorless and separated strangely. The hot tea was excellent. The plum sauce for the crab puffs was different too.
