Good place to eat while you are the beach. Beautiful views while your sitting waiting for your food. Great drinks!!!

Pretty good fish, pretty bad burgers. But let's face it, if you go to a place on the seacoast called Castaways and you order a... burger, you're rolling the dice. The service was inviting and attentive, but of course we got there as soon as they opened, soit could be different during the rush. The drinks menu was pretty extensive, and my wife got a frozen mango margarita, which shedescribed as "yummy". Two of us got the fried haddock, which was delicious. Two of us, however, got cheeseburgers, whichweren't. One of the burgers was the charred memory of beef, and both came with homemade potato chips which were left largelyuntouched. It's a tad overpriced ($140 for four lunches and two cocktails, including tip), but it's the seacoast, so sometourist trap markup is to be expected and not really worth complaining about. We'll go back, but next time, we'll all getseafood. Read more

I wish I had read the recent reviews before eating here. The service was not good nor the food. Two tables that got seated after... us got drinks and menus way before us. I had to go to the bar to get water for my toddler in the 95 degree heat. We had to gofind the hostess to get service. We figured it would take forever if we just gave our drink order (waters and a beer) so weordered everything all at once. The food came and we had to flag them down for silverware. The scallops were not cooked, theroll for the lobster roll was stale, and the calamari was bitter. $140 for three people and only four menu items that weren'tgreat, oh and one beer. This is the first time in probably five years that I've left a tip lower than 20% and I felt bad doingthat. It was just a bad experience. Read more

Food and service were great. Management needs to learn ADA access laws for service dogs. They allow people to bring pets for... outside seating and have a local law posted about non service dogs in a restaurant setting, but asked that the service dog notcome inside due to that law which isn't applicable to a service dog trained to aid a disabled person such as myself. I waspolite and educated a staff member when I had to leave my service dog with my wife to use the restroom. Read more

My daughter and I stumbled upon Castaways when we were expanding our exploration of Hampton Beach / Seabrook. It was 1PM on a... Sunday - in late June - and the restaurant was empty, even though the beaches were all packed. Curious start. It took us awhile to get the attention of wait staff. Though, once our waitress did stop by, she was very attentive after. A pet peeve ofmine is a long wait after to pay the tab. This did not happen. Very prompt! I got the local clam basket. Market price. I wassurprised to be served whole belly clams. And, they were excellent and abundant! They tasted fresh, they were well fried, crispand delicious. The fries that accompanied were just OK. I?m not a fan of fries w that chemical coating that kinda fakes a goodpotato crunch. Just cook them correctly and this is unnecessary. My daughter, less adventurous, ordered chicken tenders. They, too, were excellent and generously portioned. The meal fed her a dinner as well. Same story on the fries, of course. Sigh! Idrink a lot of iced tea, especially at lunch time. Castaways tea had an odd taste to it. I couldn?t quite place it. Not reallyobjectionable. Just odd. $70 for two plates and one tea (w tip). A little steep for lunch w your kid. But, I get it, right onthe beach road, fun views. Not really complaining, just saying? Read more
