I've contemplated trying Due Cucina every time I've passed it while leaving the Roosevelt Link Light Rail Station, but always... ended up shying away due to being a bit intimidated by the ordering process and the fact that the three most tempting pastasauces to me (the Smoked Salmon, Mushroom & White Truffle Oil, and Carbonara) all contain dairy. And I, as we all know, amviolently lactose intolerant. Well, today was the day. I marched across the street, two Lactose pills in hand, why? FORSCIENCE!!! So, here's an in-depth review for all of you who have been as hesitant as I was. 1) Enter through either of the twodoors, and walk straight up to the counter. 2) If you're feeling a bit lost, go to the register in the farthest corner and askthe very nice staff to explain how to order. They have pasta examples on a plate and you can order at that register. 3) Ifyou're feeling bold, you can just go straight up to one of the touchscreens and complete your order with no human interaction.(An introvert's dream!) The user interface is easy to navigate and the system is quick and responsive. 4) Fill your own waterglass from the pitcher on the counter, and grab utensils and napkins from the other counter. 5) Find a seat and wait for them tocall your name, then pick up your food at the counter. 6) After you're done, bus your own table and put your dirty dishes on topof the trash cans in the right corner of the restaurant. The restaurant: Casual vibes. Upbeat Latin music that's soft enough toeasily hear your conversations. A variety of different seating options depending on your group size, some in well-lit areas andsome that are more in shadow. (I think this spot would be fun for both families and dates.) The food: The portions weresurprisingly big, which is always a plus for me. The prices were also reasonable (under $20 even with a couple of add-ons). Thepasta wasn't mind-blowing, but it was still decent, yummy, and very filling. The noodles were a bit al dente an Read more

Delicious food! Thank you for a great lunch. I had the Cacio & Pepe - so fresh and creamy. My partner had the lasagna and loved... it too. Tiramisu was excellent! I won?t share it next time! Employees were helpful and friendly. I appreciate that your food isfresh and of good quality. Read more

Decent pasta, but a bit greasy and oily for my tastes though. Not sure if that's what authentic Italian pasta is supposed to be... like anyways. I got the salmon pasta and the flavors were excellent, though a little salty for my tastes. There is definitely adifference in the way the pasta shells taste compared to store bought ones though. It tastes wholesome which makes sense givenit's handmade. I wish there were some more meat pastas. This is not a fine dining establishment by the way. It is very casualand you have to bus yourself from taking the order to putting away the dirty plates. They call out your order so make sure topay attention or else you might miss it and wait much longer than necessary. The wait isn't too long either - maybe about 10minutes. Read more

This one is fairly new but it?s definitely worth a try. It?s super convenient to get to since it?s right next to the light rail... station. Otherwise parking will likely be street parking. There is a lot of seating and on sunny days the side windows will allbe open for a nice dining experience. You can essentially build your own pasta and they have a lot of options to choose from. You can?t go wrong with anything really. I recommend the Creste Di Gallo with either the Bolgonese Ragu or Mushroom & TruffleOil. The food doesn?t take too long to cook and the serving size is good for the price. Overall very tasty pasta for a goodprice and good location. I will definitely try again and possibly get some to go next time! Read more

Dué Cucina Italiana is a more upscale build-your-own pasta joint. They have 5-6 pasta types to choose from and a variety of... sauces and add-ons. The Bolognese is really, really good and their carbonara is also good. I didn't really like the duck ragùbecause the taste was very subtle on the side of bland. The bruschetta with peppers is so good, probably one of the best thingson the menu. Dué Cucina is a little pricy, but it's a nice spot for a cheaper pasta date that is still good quality. It also isself-bus and you pick up your food at the counter, so it is a little more casual in that way. Read more
