We have loved George's for years (whisper: decades :-) ) and the new owners are doing a great job of continuing the wonderful... food and service. Even if it's just "Wednesday night", it's always a special occasion when we go to George's! Read more
Very disappointed, poor experience at George's Steak Pit....was told they had new owners is why things are not as good. We had... no idea the steaks had some type of sauce/seasoning on them which was not good. There was a $10 fee to share which wasoutrageous. There was an extra $.75 charge to have a "frozen" margateta I did not know about. It was very expensive and notworth it. The waiter did not check to see if everything was okay, never saw him again. First time and was fantastic!!! Just happen to be in the area and was looking for somewhere new to eat and couldn't have picked... a better place... They was packed, we sat at the bar since there was no tables available, which definitely goes for saying howgood they was... And "Molly" the bartender, waited in us.. She was awesome, extremely nice. Place has changed ownership and apparently doesn't care if they keep customers or not. Table of 5 and a$430 ticket. 2 of us our... steaks were ordered med. Rare and were well done. One ordered prime rib, med rare and it was well done. French onion soup was sosalty, you could not eat. Service was terrible. After waiting a hour and half for our food, after telling the waitress, all ourmeats, were cooked well done, she said, they could cook us another but had no idea how long it woukd be. We said, here you canhave them back, please just take off our ticket, she refused and said they cannot do that. This use to be a awesome place but asI said, the new owners apparently do not care. Sad, New owners ruined the steaks! Smoke sauce on a steak? I eat steaks Almost every day... I couldn't choke it down took it... home to the dog. Cheap horrible seasoning and not what George's built their reputation serving! Shame on the new owners. Frankhope you have a clause to protect your reputation. The service was fantastic. Best to all.
