We ordered Over the phone beef shish kebab and the beef lulah, the flap meat was very chewy and dry as well as the ground meat.... They didn't include any sauce for the kebab or any dressing (harissa maybe? Something) only these two plates in our order to go.The salad lacked flavor. Cafe Areni Kebab House was completely empty at lunch time and had no food in their deli displays - that should?ve been my first... clue. The cashier girl (who was the owner?s daughter) tried to overcharge me. Beef Kebab plate looked appetizing, but that wasits only plus - the meat was as hard as the bottom of the shoe, hopelessly overcooked and lacked any taste (I have kebabs on aweekly basis and this was beyond bad). When I politely told them that unlike the Chicken kebab, which I also ordered, the Beefkebab was inedible, the entire family who owns that place and who were in the cafe - dad, mom and daughter - ganged up on me andbecame verbally abusive. It was a shocking experience, and, needless to say, I will never go back to the place with such poorcustomer service and less than mediocre food when there are so many other wonderful kebab places. Had never had Armenian food before tonight....and WOW! Packed with flavor, a generous portion, and fast, friendly service. The... bruschetta type tomato sauce out of this world. The roasted jalapeño added some zest and zing. It also included a whole roastedtomato. The two cabbage salads, delectable! Thanks Cafe Areni! I will be back soon to give some other offerings a try!
