I don’t usually write reviews but we had come here for my family members birthday dinners and the service was incredible we... even got to meet Earnest himself, he is a very sweet man. Very delicious food from the appetizers to the desert, I got theribeye steak and it was cooked very good and the baked potato with crawfish on the side is so yummy! They made my family feelvery attended to. I can’t recommend this place enough! Read more

Excellent food and service. I didn’t expect a white tablecloth sit down place from the outside but it’s surprisingly up... scape inside. The server was great. Marinated crab claws are delicious and I couldn’t stop eating the bread. The gumbo isserved on a flaming plate bubbling hot and it’s very good. The entrees come with very generous amounts of lump crab meat. Read more

I really had high hopes for this place. My husband and I went here for a date night. We sampled enough of the menu to know we... won't be back. The dining room is annoyingly dark. Our waiter was kind and patient; no complaint about the service at all. Aboutthe meal... We ordered oysters (no complaints) as an appetizer. I had the snapper shreve and my husband ordered a steak. He alsohad some kind of seafood side...can't recall the name but it was SOUR. It tasted like it had gone bad. If you know how rottingseafood smells...let me tell you, it tastes like it smells. I nearly vomited. I was disappointed in my $50 meal as well. Therewas a random canned peach on my plate alongside what tasted like canned mushrooms as well. I'm all for paying big bucks for a great meal, but $240 later and I wish I had stayed home. Read more

Never again. I am so embarrassed that such a “historical” restaurant such as Ernest’s would employ some of the most... lackadaisical and uninterested people I have ever had to encounter. Sadly, I have felt more welcome at McDonalds than thisplace. Hostesses are melancholy and for a lack of a better term, lazy and unhappy. We walked in, walked up to the hostess areaand weren’t greeted at all. They looked at us, we said we were going to just sit at the bar and walked right in. No wordsexchanged except for one of them saying “okay”. The only saving grace was the bar staff - they were engaging and acted as ifthey were happy to have our business. We decided to just have crab claws and a salad….both items that should have been pairedwith bread. I asked four times for bread and was told it was coming….it never came. We went outside (out back) where twoemployees were pulling loaves of bread out of the trunk of a car. I knew they had bread after seeing that but I never got any. After we finished, we got up to leave - walked by the two hostesses, they did not say goodnight, thank you, have a good evening,NOTHING. It was about to storm so my date went to get his truck. While waiting, I turned around to look inside and one of thehostesses was on her cell phone. Let me also add that my silverware was FILTHY. We spent (with tip) around $70 for crab claws,a dinner salad and three drinks. I cannot for the life of me understand how a restaurant with the reputation that Ernest’shas, would allow such awful people to work for them. I could go on and on about how “I work in customer service” and how weshould be welcoming but it’s not even about that at this point - it’s about simple human kindness….Not to mention, theplace was so filthy looking (ceiling tiles, etc) that the name John Taffer (sp) ran through my head. I will never return toErnest’s again. So very disappointed. 2Johns or Superior will now get my business and hard earned money. Read more
