We went to Tandori Flavour in Sidney on a Sunday, in late May around 6 pm. As we approached the entrance to the restaurant, we saw a wooden pallets with loose garbage by the front door. There was a handwritten notice on the front door stating the restaurant was closed, but the lights were on and we could see a couple of people inside. This first impression was not very encouraging. The restaurant was fairly empty. There was only a couple waiting for their take-out order. We asked the lady at the front desk whether we could sit at a table by the window but she said No. We had to sit at a table by the front door that was already set up. Shortly after, an East Indian couple came in and asked for the same table, and the young lady immediately set up that table for them. Unfortunately our experience went downhill from that point. I ordered the vegetable biryani and my husband ordered chicken vindaloo. When the waitress asked how hot we would like our food, we said we would like it mild. However, she told my husband they could not make chicken vindaloo mild, so he had to settle for butter chicken. Although the servings were generous, and the butter chicken was tasty, the vegetable biryani was inedible. The vegetables consisted of big chunks of zucchini and a couple of sad- looking pieces of cauliflower. The dish had an unpleasant taste, I could not identify, and the rice did not taste freshly cooked. However, when I voiced my dissatisfaction to the young lady at the front desk, she was gracious, apologized profusely and did not charge us for the biryani. We have mixed feelings about this restaurant, and I am not sure whether we will try it again. I must say they do a brisk take-out business. While we were waiting for our food, we counted at least half a dozen customers leaving with large take-out orders.
Great awesome food. Good people. Every visit is a great visit. Highly recommended. Very good food. Happy times.
I ordered kadahi chicken and shaahi panner . Food was good so as the service.Thankful to the server she took my last minute order and we got our food just before the close.
Serving sizes are very large, fair prices and such good food! Probably the best samosas I've ever had! I will most definitely order again!
Decided in the buffet. Should have been suspicious I was the only person in the place. Cold food, sinewy, ground beef instead of real beef curry ( never heard of such a thing). Overall disgusting and thr restaurant is dirty including the bathrooms.
I ordered the tandoori platter for takeout today. Was hugely disappointed with my food. Firstly the meat did not seem it was actually cooked in a tandoor. There was no char or smokiness which one would expect from food cooked in a tandoor oven. The seekh kabob was rubbery and hard, most likely cooked from frozen and had no taste. The chicken was bland and was covered in a red paste which might have been okay if it was flavourful, but I just tasted raw chilli powder. For a restaurant with tandoor in its name I really hope this was a one off.
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, i could hardly stop eating when i was full! super filling and flavourful, you can tell a lot of love and care was put into the food. best indian restaurant ever!
This brand new Restaurant just opened in Sidney BC, this was my first time here too! They had the spiciest food I?ve ever tasted ! It might also be because I told the waitress that I wanted the spiciest dish ! After I tried the dish, I kept blowing my nose for the next 15 minutes. But I still loved the spiciness, especially when it comes to curry lamb or beef ! If you?re passing by Sidney downtown, this is the place you can give a try if you want some amazing spicy food! The price might a bit higher, but when you are in the mood, who really cares about the price anyway? ?
