Went back for the 1st time in a while. Got off to a rocky start with cocktails. NOT what we expected, but bartender quickly... offered to change drinks and bottled beer was just as expected. Service was slow, but not inattentive. Just a staffing thingprobably. Had appetizers and they were fine. Presented very nicely. I would go back, but not in a hurry to do so. Read more
I've eaten at Larsen's Grill in Simi Valley many times over the last 5 years. The meals have been reliably good. Service has... been all over the map, but generally good and sometimes great, depending on the server. I hadn't been at all during the COVIDpandemic and was looking forward to my visit on October 1. It didn't go well. Ordered a bottle of wine, a Caesar Salad splitfor two, two Prime Rib entrees (one medium and one medium rare), and a Butter Cake split. Problems started with the wine. Theserver took quite a long to bring the wine and brought out the wrong bottle (same vintner, wrong wine). Went back to find theright bottle and came back with a different wrong bottle. It was a good 10 minutes in, so let it go and kept that one. Thesalad came out was okay. No real changes that I could tell. Portion sizing might have been smaller than pre-COVID, but it'shard to tell when you're splitting. The server brought out entrees while the salad was still on the table, and not close tobeing finished. The meat was overcooked (both portions well-done) and not even close to what was ordered. There wasn't a hintof pink in either of them. The Butter Cake was average. Less berry content than I remember. Weird dollops of whipped cream onthe plate. Far too much of the raspberry syrup drizzled all over. The cake was broken up a bit and sort of messylooking. During the meal one of the floating floor staff who came by to refill water poured a decent bit of water on the tableand basically laughed it off. It was an accident and nothing was damaged. It didn't need to happen and it was handledpoorly. I won't be going back any time soon. I don't know if this location lost kitchen staff during the pandemic, if theserver got the order wrong, or what happened with the pacing, but it wasn't a great experience. Food was fine. Superb side dishes along with tender delicious steak. This place was my first experience of dry aged steak.
We visited for our Anniversary. Food was great. They surprised us with dessert! Super friendly staff! Will return if we are... ever in the area again! Read more

We came to Larsen's to Celebrate my Daughter inlaw graduating , Shannon was our waiter she was amazing, she was a le to answer... any questions we had. In fact all the all the waiters where fantastic they all seemed to stop by our table to make sureeverything was great. The food was amazing the Sea bass was amazing, my Son and Daughter thought there Prime Rib was delicious, my grandson's enjoyed their meal as well.. Shannon was so sweet she gave my Daughter inlaw a dessert that said congratulationsgrad, so unexpected, very lovely Thank you for a great experience. Read more
