Tried the place for the first time yesterday. Not bad at all. I usually went to Super Hibachi Buffet on Pleasant Hill Rd when I... lived in that area. Chow King does not make me miss that place except maybe for stir-fried vermicelli as I prefer slimmervermicelli. But everything else is equally good or slightly better. I went on a Sunday. Ingredients including seafood werefresh. Oh the egg drop soup did have some fishy aftertaste/smell a little bit. But this happens with soups at other Chinesebuffets too. I don't know why. I came here because a review said "above average Chinese Buffet". If that is true, I'd hate to see what an average buffet is... like. Several items I got off the buffet were cold or not fresh. There is a sour smell in the whole restaurant. The items I gotoff the buffet that were warm/hot were OK. I can think of at least 5 buffets I go to regularly that would amaze the person whosaid this was an above average place. The service was good. Nothing special for a Chinese buffet. Well if your absolutely starving & everything else in town is closed.... And you have no gas left in your tank & you're stranded... in the parking lot then I would advise you to come here to eat. The food is not nasty it's just not good not good what's thedifference you ask? When it's nasty it's unedible you can't eat it at all because it's disgusting the food is not disgusting itjust has no flavor. . I believe the fish I ate still had scales on it because I was pulling something like it out of my mouth. The food on the buffet was cold. The best thing I had was my glass of water. No one seems to speak English so I had to keepwalking around asking people where the bathroom was they kept shaking their head no and walking away??????????????????????. First time here today. I decided to start with egg drop soup (delicious through and through) and an egg roll (barely warm). For... the entree: -sample of each- seafood boil (barely warm and tasted days old), string beans (cold), sesame chicken (questionable),lo mein (no taste), fried rice was ok, chicken wings (hard and lukewarm), lastly?this General Taos ?chicken?
