We were greeted warmly and encouraged to try some of the staple dishes from Mexico, which we loved! The drinks were amazing,... atmosphere perfect. Cute patio to sit with the family outside or inside. Read more
We loved every dish that we were served. First, a nice portion of chips and guacamole. The guacamole was extra good. Cactus... salad was next and it was delectable. Another appetizer, a beef tostada, was piled high and wonderfully flavorful. So were the 2shrimp tacos. The one with the cheese was incredible. Cheesy shrimp taco, who knew it could be so good? Likewise with myentree, which was roast pork, freshly made. Homemade tortillas help make this a taste sensation. Roast pork can be so fine whenit is done well and this version was the best. Another entree was the sea scallops, in a black sauce. Superb. Oh yeah, we hadsome margaritas--lots of them. The prickly pear was the favorite. We even squeezed in a bite of dessert. Also quite good. Slow service with roughly fairly priced food. The recent green line extension has opened up Union Square as a weekend dinner... destination for me. Unfortunately this was a disappointing debut. There was no menu or QR code available upon sitting down,which was mildly annoying, especially because the menu was not the top Google search result. My companion and I ordered drinksquickly, and it took ~10 minutes to receive them. The food was fine but relatively expensive for Mexican. If you're moreadventurous than I am, maybe the grasshopper offering make up for it. Read more
Barra features tasty Mexican street food, delicious drinks, and charming decor. The prices are a bit steep for the small portion... sizes, but each dish is packed with flavor and creative sets of ingredients. The octopus tostada and beef/cactus taco wereparticularly good. Read more
