I had my wedding in the wine cellar here a few weeks ago, and everything was spectacular! The food was amazing, the drinks were... excellent, but even that was nowhere near the service we got from the wonderful staff. The waiters were so kind and the eventplanner was so attentive to us- they really went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. All of our guestscommented on how wonderful they were treated and it really could not have gone better. You can't put a price on quality service-we were treated like family. Thank you Tapastrie! After seeing a show at the next door Morris Performing Arts Center, we stopped in for a little wine and dessert. We tried... several different wines (various size pours from 2oz tastings to 6oz glasses). Do yourself a favor and get the GorgonzolaCheesecake covered in decadent chocolate ganache. It's OUTSTANDING!! We'll definitely go back and check out their patio fordinner some time in the spring or summer. we were a party of 6, and the other 5 thought this place was really great, howeverthis is MY review...tapastrie is more like a 3 1/2 star place. we were glad to be there and a good tapas place is a fun diningexperience. all the hot and cold tapas you'll find in finer tapas restaurants, so the menu looks the part. the lamb on theskewers was really tough, and the chorizo wrapped dates (again, which everyone else raved about) i found candied. I will try again and maybe will change my mind..., but wow. Slow terrible service. Couldn’t bring us correct silverware... before the food came out.server had no idea about the foods on the menu or even basics about the cheeses on the menu. Toursitself as a wine bar, but all in all, wine was not great. Ambiance: am I in a bar? Or am I in a nice restaurant? Still can’ttell. Worst part: the food. Cheese board had stale (and I mean STALE cheese) have you ever had to fight your fork through atough Goat cheese or Gouda? Didn’t think so. Some other options were just ok. Literally left and went to south bend brewworks. Way better food and service and atmosphere. Save yourself the trouble. Read more
