This review is for a to-go order. I can only speak to the food provided - and it was terrible. I ordered the mac and cheese... with grilled chicken added on. It cost me $24! What I received was a container with a shallow helping of macaroni and cheesethat looked and tasted just like the velveeta box stuff, except worse, like it had been made several hours previous and with thelowest-quality cheese they could find. And the grilled chicken - which cost $5 to add on - was completed tasteless andunseasoned. I would expect for that much money, and for their reputation as an institution that serves quality food, they wouldbe willing to give it some kind of flavoring. For as much money as the Playwright charges for its food, I was expecting a dishthat was creatively conceived with tasty ingredients. What I got was tasteless and low quality. Read more

Great drinks, good environment and if you are a wing enthusiast like I am, it is by far the best Buffalo wings I have ever had.... Perfect level of flavor while maintaining its spicy integrity. Definitely a place to come and check out. Read more

I went to Playwright this past weekend to check out the night life and boozy brunch . First off a friend and I went to the bar... on a Friday night … it was packed for such a tiny place !!! It was loud but not in a good way , the crowd was louder than themusic so it sounded like constant yelling . Our bartender was lovely and the service was awesome …. Sunday afternoon somefriends and I went out for a boozy brunch . We ordered one of their drink towers HIGHLY RECOMMEND ! I had the croque madam andbreakfast poutine . I must say what ruined it for me me was the eggs , I don’t think you have an option for how you want youreggs on top . I’m all for over easy but it was not cooked so that was a disappointment. Would definitely try with an overmedium eggs if I have that option . My friends ordered the chicken and waffles and said the chicken was phenomenal we alsoordered some nachos but the steak was undercooked . All in all 4/5 drinks were on point will be returning for those , staff isamazing and the service was fast . Trying the dinner menu next time ?? Read more

Amazing service, but the food is really not that great. I had the spicy burger and thought the patty was noticeably... underseasoned, the bun over-sweet. For a drink I had the espresso martini, and while it was fine, it wasn’t to the caliber Iwould expect from a restaurant. I’m sure the regular draft beers and ciders are perfectly serviceable though. The vibe isinteresting — it seems like it was once a spirited writer and music themed place that’s now selling its soul to turn itselfinto a regular boring old sports bar. Would love to return if it went in a more “Lolitas Cocina” direction than a “NedDevines” but hey, I’m just one guy. Read more
